As the new year dawns, it’s just three months until one of Queensland’s largest ever trade promotions rolls out across the state to coincide with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018).

Trade 2018 is designed to strengthen Queensland’s trade and investment ties with other Commonwealth nations and boost the international business profile of Queensland in general and the Gold Coast in particular.

The Trade 2018 initiative has already delivered a number of inbound and outbound trade and investment missions, and receptions and investor briefings in various countries to accompany the Queen’s Baton Relay.

It will culminate with the Games Time Trade and Investment Program during the Games themselves, which run from 4 to 15 April this year.

The games-time program will include a broad range of business events, formal receptions, networking opportunities, high-level meetings for potential buyers, site visits, and delegate business-matching in locations across Queensland.

At Broadbeach, the Queensland Government and City of Gold Coast will partner to host Commonwealth House – an exclusive business hub to host targeted business and government delegates and Commonwealth leaders from across the world.

Program highlights at Commonwealth House will include a business leaders’ networking reception, a session on the value of sport outside the playing field, and a major marine-industry networking event.

GC2018 will be a magnet for international visitors, attended by athletes, media, tourists, and representatives from foreign governments and businesses. If you’d like to promote your business to this once-in-a-lifetime audience, express your interest in being involved in Trade 2018.
