The 2017 Gold Coast Careers Festival was held last week attracting over 5,000 attendees – it is the Gold Coast’s largest and most comprehensive careers event and it was supported by the Queensland State Government as part of the IET Partnership Fund.
Total Grant: $27,680.
Consortium members: Study Gold Coast and its members.
Project goal: Deliver a tailored, valuable and relevant Careers Festival experience and; raise the Gold Coast’s profile as a world class education and training destination offering exciting and diverse career opportunities.
Who attended: Over 5,000 attendees — current and prospective students, and job seekers.
Project firsts: The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games recruitment hub; and a dedicated International Student Zone, which provided study, visa, accommodation and lifestyle information all in one place.
Program highlights: Inspiring presentations, practical skills workshops, and an Employment Precinct where students met with prospective employers.
Project achievements and outcomes: ‘We were thrilled with the turn-out for the Festival. We provided a great mix of information, practical help, networking and inspiration that will help students achieve better employment outcomes.
