Liz Day News

On behalf of Study Queensland, I would like to thank all our industry partners and stakeholders for yet another successful year.

I would also like to congratulate all graduating students on their achievements in 2019, including students on our Queensland International Student Advisory Panel. Students remain at the core of our focus at Study Queensland, and it is humbling to see the global talent graduating from our sector. I wish them all the best for the future.

A snapshot of 2019The 2018-19 financial year saw strong growth across Queensland’s services exports boasting a 9.5% increase to $14.7 billion. According to the ABS, international education and training plays an integral role in the Queensland economy with its export valued at $5.4 billion, growing 16.1% on the previous year and almost one half (49.2%) of Queensland’s spending by international visitors in 2018-19 was by international education-related visitors.

For Study Queensland, it has been a busy year marked by significant milestones and events. Please see the below 2019 snapshot.

To kickstart 2020, we are excited to announce consultation will soon be open for the refreshed IET Strategy on Get Involved. Other exciting initiatives ahead include the IET Summit 2020, the Study Queensland Talent Program and our Global Marketing Campaign. We also look forward to bringing you the 2019 full year data on international student enrolments next year. In the meantime, please find the Study Queensland September Summary.

We would like to wish all of our colleagues, partners, students and friends a safe and happy festive season. The team and I have really enjoyed working with you this year and we look forward to growing our partnerships next year.

Until 2020!
