Luke Shim commenced as Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner for South Korea in August 2023.
Prior to joining Trade and Investment Queensland, Luke was Managing Director of British Columbia’s Trade and Investment Representative Office in Seoul, where he worked to help companies identify and secure business opportunities.
Luke previously worked in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions at KPMG, where he led deal origination and execution for buy-side mandates involving all cross-border M&A transactions involving both strategic and financial investments overseas.
Before joining KPMG, he was the head of acquisitions at KERR Asset Management, the largest resources focused asset manager in Korea. At KERR, he was focused on alternative investments in energy, mining, private equity, and real estate.
Luke holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He is also a Certified Ethereum Blockchain Developer (Consensys).
