QUSD $300bn annually committed to COP29
Nations at COP29 have reached an agreement to triple annual climate finance for developing countries, increasing the commitment from $100bn to $300bn (USD) annually by 2035.
This funding aims to help developing nations adapt to climate change.
Australia has pledged an additional $50m annually, bringing its total contribution to $150m per annum.
Participants also endorsed the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism for carbon credit transfers, including provisions for managed Indigenous Peoples and local communities’ engagement and agreement.
