The 108-year-old Yatala business is now shipping European-style sausages to Hong Kong after signing a contract with a major distributor.

The deal was secured after the Gotzinger team was introduced to distributor Century Food in Brisbane by Trade and Investment Queensland and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Century Food sources gourmet products and wholesales them throughout Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China.

George Ganis, National Sales and Export Manager of Gotzinger Smallgoods, said more than a tonne of Queensland sausages were being flown to Hong Kong every month.

‘This new, exclusive deal with a Hong Kong distributor will see us sending approximately 1.4 tonnes of 5 lines of smallgoods like cheese kransky sausages every 4 weeks direct from Brisbane,’ he said.

Mr Ganis said Trade and Investment Queensland had helped to put the company on a roll in Hong Kong.

‘Trade and Investment Queensland’s standing and connections within the export sector give companies like us that little extra clout when pursuing new deals,’ he said.

Gotzinger Smallgoods employs about 130 staff and makes its world-class products at a purpose-built factory in Yatala.
