Alejandro Palma Rioseco commenced as Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner for Latin America in August 2023.
Alejandro brings over 30 years’ experience in leading Latin America companies in oil, energy and infrastructure industries.
Following a distinguished legal career, Alejandro joined GNL Chile S.A as General Counsel, where he informed legal strategy and operations. Subsequently, he was promoted to CEO, where he was responsible for several successful investment and expansion projects with some of the world’s leading Oil and Gas companies.
Prior to joining Trade and Investment Queensland, Alejandro was the Head of Corporate Affairs and General Counsel of Copec S.A, the main oil distribution and energy company in Chile. Alejandro has extensive experience working in sustainability, corporate governance, community relations, risk, compliance, strategic communications, regulation and law.
He has been board member of Terpel (with presence in four Latam countries), Sonacol, Copec Aviation, Copec Pay, among others.
Alejandro holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Catholic University of Chile, a Masters of Laws from the Sydney University Australia, and a Bachelor of Law from Universidad de Chile.
