Linda Apelt commenced as Agent-General and commissioner for Europe in July 2017. She has a wealth of experience in senior leadership, policy development, service delivery, and stakeholder engagement, in both the public and private sectors.
As a former long-serving director-general with the Queensland Government, she oversaw enhanced service delivery across a range of portfolios, including education, health, housing, community services, Indigenous policy and the arts.
She has also been a company director on independent boards in the fields of superannuation, urban planning and research, housing and homelessness, health and welfare, children’s and disability services, and library services. She was most recently the Chair of Screen Queensland, the state’s premier investment attraction agency for film.
Linda also holds a range of post-graduate qualifications, including a Masters of Education Studies from The University of Queensland. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
