Queensland aerospace firm Stralis Aircraft formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Akita University and Akita Prefectural University during World Expo Osaka 2025.

The agreement accelerates testing of Stralis’ hydrogen electric propulsion tech within Japan’s sophisticated electric aircraft research facilities.

The collaboration also includes joint development of clean aviation talent and R&D exchange.

Leveraging proprietary high temperature fuel cells, Stralis claims its system is six times lighter and more efficient, enabling flights up to ten times those of battery powered aircraft at half operating costs.

This international collaboration highlights Queensland’s growing presence in sustainable aviation.
