Queensland based Stralis Aircraft has secured a key agreement to test its hydrogen electric propulsion system in collaboration with Akita University and Akita Prefectural University. 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), struck during the Queensland government’s trade mission, positions Stralis to trial its cutting edge, lightweight HTPEM fuel cells in Japan’s leading electric aviation facilities. 

The collaboration also includes skills development programs and will promote cleantech job creation in Queensland. 

Stralis is targeting a flight demonstration of its Bonanza A36HE by late 2026. 

This deal highlights Queensland’s global leadership in clean energy driven aviation innovation.
