During World Expo Osaka 2025, Queensland’s Stralis Aircraft signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Akita University’s Joint Research Centre for Electric Architecture and Akita Prefectural University.
The MoU commits to testing Stralis’ hydrogen electric propulsion components at Akita’s advanced testbed.
Supported by Trade and Investment Queensland, the agreement includes training pathways for future engineers.
Stralis aims to fly its Bonanza A36HE demonstrator in Japan by late 2026, leveraging a propulsion system six times lighter than conventional fuel cells, delivering ten times the range of battery electric aircraft at half the cost.
This MoU underscores Queensland’s role in shaping global hydrogen aviation.
