Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner – Middle East
Kassem Younes PSM brings over two decades of business experience, including 18 years in senior roles with the State Government of Victoria, specializing in international market development. He has driven growth across sectors such as agriculture, mining, energy, sports diplomacy, e-sports, Higher education, and sustainability, successfully connecting Australian companies with partners in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.
Over the past 20 years, he has also played a pivotal role in attracting significant investment from the Middle East into Australia in priority sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, tourism and hospitality, and other emerging industries
In 2024, he received the Public Service Medal for the outstanding achievement in trade and investment between Victoria/Australia and the Middle East.
Kassem is active in regional business councils working closely with the Australian Business Councils in the UAE and the Australian Saudi Business Council in Saudi Arabia.
He holds a master’s in science/pharmacy from Saint Petersburg State Chemical and Pharmaceutical University, also undertook remote business studies with Harvard Business School is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
Kassem speaks Arabic, English, French, and Russian.
