Young-Mi Kim

Principal Trade and Investment Officer
(TradeStart Advisor)

Young-Mi Kim has extensive experience in international trade and has directly assisted many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through all stages of their export journey. She can provide practical advice on current market opportunities, developing export strategies, navigating market access regulations, freight services, and government financial assistance programs.

Young-Mi has worked across a diverse range of sectors, including innovative technologies, food and agribusiness, resources and energy, infrastructure and construction, and health. She has extensive professional networks across government agencies, corporations, industry peak bodies, as well as international investors and buyers.

Previously, Young Mi was A/Business Manager of North Asia in Trade and Investment Queensland, covering the Japan and Korea markets, and was Business Development Manager of Trade and Investment Queensland’s Korea office.

She has also worked for the economic section at the Australian embassy in Korea for seven years before she moved to Sydney, completing a Masters in Education at the University of Sydney.

Hayley Laraghy

Principal Trade and Investment Officer
(TradeStart Advisor)

Hayley Laraghy is the TradeStart advisor for the Brisbane South region, encompassing the local government areas of Redlands and Logan. Hayley joined Trade and Investment Queensland as the Brisbane-based advisor supporting Trade and Investment Queensland’s Greater China operations before transitioning to a role within the synthetic biology sector.

In this capacity, Hayley has supported new and emerging companies to explore export and investment opportunities for biosynthesised foods and pharmaceuticals, as well as attract investment into Queensland’s burgeoning synthetic biology sector.

Prior to joining Trade and Investment Queensland, Hayley lived and worked in China and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. As TradeStart advisor for Brisbane South, Hayley supports companies across all industry sectors, and at various stages of their export journey, to succeed internationally.

Joy Tang

Principal Trade Officer
(TradeStart Advisor)

Joy Tang joined Trade and Investment Queensland in September 2021 as a TradeStart Food and Agribusiness Advisor. Joy has more than 20 years of experience in export sales and marketing in food and agribusiness. She has worked in various industries including red meat and horticulture, and has held senior export and marketing positions for a number of companies, peak industry bodies, industry associations, and in government.

Before joining Trade and Investment Queensland, Joy worked for Avocados Australia and also ran her own export consulting business. She was based in China as Country Manager for Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) for eight years before moving back to Australia in 2017.

She is proud of having helped the Australia red meat industry grow from a 5000-ton beef market in China to the country being the largest sheep meat and third largest beef market for Australia during her time at MLA.

Joy also helped many companies in developing their export market, market diversification and expansion while working for Austrade for nine years.

Joy has extensive and practical knowledge of every aspect of the export supply chain, from market access and logistics to developing export strategy, as well as in market promotions and expansion.
