Denise Kreymborg

Director, Regional Network, Queensland Operations

Denise is an award-winning business professional with more than two decades’ experience in industry development, regional economic development, and business strategy. She has a strong track record in grant attraction, industry marketing, and investment strategies.

Prior to joining Trade and Investment Queensland, Denise was CEO of Whitsunday Economic Development Ltd, where she led organisational change and regional economic development. Her major achievements included negotiating area-specific access for Whitsunday businesses to New Zealand export markets, attracting $12 million in funding, and leading innovative change programs that enabled local businesses to grow and diversify.

Denise has also held roles as an industry development manager under Horticulture Innovation Australia’s industry development program, and as a regional business advisor for various state and local government authorities. She is a passionate, practical, effective advocate for Queensland’s regional businesses and communities.

Denise holds an MBA in entrepreneurial management and a range of other management and business qualifications. In 2012, she won the AUSVEG National Industry Contribution Award for her work in gaining market access and advocating for a national agenda on workforce development in horticulture.

Mitch Rawlins

Principal Trade and Investment Officer (TradeStart)

Born in Townsville, Mitch is passionate about promoting the city and surrounding area’s diverse export offerings, which include mining, manufacturing, education, and agriculture. Mitch has several years of experience in management and advisory for economic and investment funding projects.

During his career, Mitch has worked for the public and private sectors and provided feasibility and business case development for agriculture, water and transport projects. This experience allows him to understand the technical barriers many companies face on their journey to export or gaining investment.

As TradeStart Advisor for North Queensland, Mitch is excited about supporting companies across all industries and at different stages of their export journey to succeed internationally.

Kris Jennings

Senior Trade and Investment Officer

Kris Jennings joins Trade and Investment Queensland from the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning. Kris’s role in the Planning and Development Services team for more than five years has seen her working with stakeholders and clients.

She has supported them through legislative and policy requirements, facilitating collaborations to achieve greater outcomes for initiatives, providing a range of business services, and with change process and management advice.

Kris has a strong business background having been involved in managing a family-owned company in the construction industry for 15 years. She understands the challenges and opportunities for small businesses in regional Queensland and the scope for growth in the export space. Kris is looking forward to developing relationships with businesses and supporting them through the export journey, providing access to TIQ resources and international networks, to achieve success.
