Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner – Japan

Tak Adachi has been Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner for Japan, one of the state’s largest export markets, since 2004.
Before his appointment, Tak was a Senior Investment Commissioner for North Asia at Invest Australia (within the Australian Embassy Tokyo – now part of Austrade), following a successful private-sector career as an investment banker, working in both Japan and Australia with Deutsche Bank as Director Global Markets.
Prior to this, Tak held senior positions with Macquarie Bank and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He holds a Bachelor of International Law from Sophia University in Tokyo, and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management, which he attended on a Commonwealth Scholarship. Tak is also a Special Advisor to the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Brisbane Branch.
